These pace counting beads help you keep track of distances travelled. This is extremely especially at night when visibility is short and you can’t see landmarks or anything to judge distance by. Having all of the pace counter beads on a durable paracord bracelet means they will not easily come off and you don’t have to worry about losing track of the beads or the bracelet. You also can use the paracord in a pinch in a survival situation as needed.

This is a step count tool used to track distance traveled by counting steps.

Made of beads on 13 inch paracord divided into two sections, each section separated by a knot. Use 9 beads for the lower part and 4 beads for the upper part.

There are two ways to use beads. One for the pace you take and the other for the distance you take:

1. Pace Counting – You count how many paces you take and move the beads in multiples of 10 or 100s depending on how far you are travelling. (group of 9 equals either 90 or 900 paces or whatever measurement you want.) Then you use the group of 4 beads as a multiple of 10 of the lower beads.
2. Distance Measuring – For this you need to know your average pace count for a distance like 100 meters. So in your normal stride get your average paces for 100 meters, then use the 9 beads for every 100 meters, then the lower beads will each be a kilometer.
